Giving back in 2021

If you’ve been following our journey as a small business, you will likely know that both Tracy and myself have a deep connection with the ocean. Through sailing, diving and many other hobbies we have both grown to respect the seas and wish to do everything we can to help conserve their beauty.

After joining the Two Oceans Aquarium Volunteer Programme in 2016 we both set out to dedicate more of our time and energy into ocean conservation. This goal stuck with us when we created The Charter Lounge and we have been giving back since the beginning. We have connected our little company with some of the biggest names in ocean conservation around the world in the hopes that the work they do can inspire our clients (that’s you) and ensure that the tranquil destinations that you will come to adore remain as beautiful and plentiful in sea life throughout time.

We are dedicated to continuing this connection as our company grows and hope to contribute more each year. 2020 brought challenges for us and we have grown from them, ready to face the new year with a respect and knowledge built from a year of learning.

How do the donations work?

Once a charter is confirmed and the final payment has been made, we will donate a percentage of our commission to one of our conservation partners. We ask that if you wish to donate to someone specific you let us know if our correspondence, or we will simply choose for you.

You do not need to fret about the process, nor does it cost you any more or less for your contribution. This is our way of sharing the love and giving you the opportunity to give back.

Where does the money go?

Never fear, we can assure that all the organisations we have chosen to support are legit, hard working organisations that have been around for years. Some we even have personal connections with. We have also asked some of these groups to share a message with you once the donation is made so you can be sure that your charter is in fact making a difference.

Why is supporting conservation important?

We believe that every little bit helps. Our oceans are in a rather desperate state and we simply cannot fathom a future where idilic charter destinations are not blessed with plentiful coral reefs and crystal blue waters. As lovers of the ocean we want to support organisations that are working hard to keep the ocean healthy so that we may enjoy the fruits of their labour. We also understand that without healthy oceans, the world as a whole will struggle to support life.
