The Key to Flying in style

Ever wondered how some people always seem to step off a plane looking as fresh as they did when you took off? we did too, until we discovered some of these great tricks to staying fresh in the air.

  • Comfortable clothes - make sure you wear clothes that are comfortable, ditch the jeans for a softer fabric and shoes that can slip on and off easily.

  • Good ear/headphones and an airplane adaptor - there’s nothing better than a good aeroplane movie, although being able to hear it would be. Adapters can be bought in most airports or travel stores that allow you to use your own headphones in the aeroplane seat connection.

  • Healthy snacks and drink lots of water - staying hydrated will stop you from feeling like you’ve been dried in the sun for 30 years after being in Air-conditioned air for so long and swapping chocolates and sweets for nuts and fresh fruit will keep you body happy and keep the suger spikes and falls away

  • Pick the right seat - Maybe an obvious tip, but a difficult one to give. The perfect seat is very person dependant.

    • The aisle is great for taller people because you can stretch out, but you will have to get up to let people in and out - so not much sleep for you

    • The window is epic for day time arrivals so you can see the destination right from the start - but you are stuck in there and have to be “an inconvenience every time you need to stretch or go to the bathroom”. Best for the nappers! plenty of wall space to curl up on to nap and no one is going to disturb you.

    • The middle… I think pretty much everyone agrees that the middle is never great unless you have friends/family on either side that don’t mind the shoulder pillow abuse.

  • Blanket scarf - the travellers most under rated clothing item. Use it as an extra blanket, pillow or even to cover your head to block out the lights.

  • Moisturiser (Yes, even for the guys) - applying moisturiser to your hands and face throughout a long flight will help keep your skin feeling fresh and relaxed.

  • And lastly, relax. Sit back, enjoy the service and try to forget the time or how long you’ve got left until you land. Paradise isn’t going anywhere, so just enjoy the ride.
