Stone Town- A UNESCO world heritage site that encompasses the old town area of Zanzibar city. This bustling and beautiful old town is filled with market squares and restaurants, but keep your wits about you as you take in the beauty - a guide may be a good idea so you don’t get lost in the winding streets, generally they will find you on the outskirts, but make sure you agree to a fee BEFORE you start. Ask for some language lessons from your crew on the yacht, it always helps to have some of the lingo to make sure you’re not being taken for a ride. (e.g How much is the fare? - ‘nauli ni kiasi gani?’
Dhow Sailing - An unforgettable experience for anyone. these incredible traditional boats sail beautifully - however you will get wet, so take a dry bag and your snorkel gear, enjoy the salty spray and wind in your hair.
Turtle sanctuary - Nungwi Mnarani Aquarium is an incredible sanctuary for green and hawksbill turtles where they have built a natural tidal pool for the turtles to grow and replenish before being released back onto the reefs on the North-east side of the island. Read more here…
